Even while in training, students are encouraged to begin raising the prayer and financial support they will need on the field. There are literally hundreds of Independent Baptist churches within two or three hours of Bowie. Instructions are given on good letter-writing, scheduling of meetings, and things to do and not to do on deputation. Students also learn to produce effective slide presentations.
