Qualified medical personnel, such as doctors, nurses, and paramedics, prepare the future missionary to care for the basic medical needs of his family. He learns to check vital signs, give shots, administer CPR and first aid, and use a Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR). We do not encourage the missionary to enter into a medical ministry, but sometimes he is forced to take action to save lives in a primitive situation.
